Speech therapy

Every child has something to say. We help them find the words, through play, at their own pace, with you right beside them.

PROMPT

When it is often recommended

  • No words by 16 months
  • No two-word phrases by 2 years
  • Hard to understand at 3
  • Repeats but doesn't ask
  • Pulls you by the hand instead of talking
  • Stammering
  • Not following simple instructions

How we work

  1. We play and observe

A relaxed first assessment. We watch how your child plays, listens and communicates, and hear your worries.

  2. A plan made for your child

Clear goals that matter at home, built around what your child already loves.

  3. Sessions you can see

Join in, or watch through our observation window. We explain what we did and why after every session.

  4. Practice that fits your day

Simple activities for bath time, meals and play, so progress carries on at home.

More about speech therapy

What speech therapy helps with

Speech therapy helps children understand words, use words and be understood. We work with late talkers, children whose speech is hard to follow, children who stammer, and children who understand far more than they can say.

Methods we use

We often blend several proven methods in one session:

  • PROMPT: gentle touch cues on the jaw, lips and tongue to shape sounds
  • Oral placement therapy (TalkTools): builds the muscle control for clear speech
  • Hanen: coaches parents to turn daily routines into chances to talk
  • AAC (other ways to communicate, like pictures): a bridge to words for children who aren’t speaking yet, never a replacement

Who we see

Children from 3 months to 18 years, including children with autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, hearing loss and global developmental delay. We also see teenagers and adults after a stroke or voice loss. Sessions run at our centre in T. Dasarahalli and online.

Questions parents ask

When should my child start speech therapy?

There is no age that is too early. If your child has no words by 16 months, or no two-word phrases by 2 years, it is worth an assessment. We see children from 3 months to 18 years.

How long will my child need therapy?

It is different for every child. We set clear goals after the assessment and review progress with you regularly, so you always know where things stand.

Can I sit in on sessions?

Yes. Parents join sessions or watch through our observation window, and we talk you through every session.

Do you offer speech therapy online?

Yes. Families outside Bengaluru have worked with us online. Ask us whether online sessions suit your child.

Every child is different. If this seems right for your child, please ask your therapist for more details.
